Welcome to the new Food Gypsy, a little sweet, a little salty, a little sassy! After two and a half years and more than three hundred posts we decided it was time to get organized.
We’ve simplified things a bit, which (we hope) allows our images and content to shine. With the fresh look comes a little shift in direction and some snazzy new navigation to help you find what you’re looking for.
There may be a few techno hiccups and bumps; we are a work in progress. A few posts might look a little screwy over the next week or so, forgive us as we tidy up the work site and get back down to the business of living life out loud. Let’s see what’s on the menu, shall we?
Holy drop down menus Batman!
Gosh, who knew we had so many recipes?! Now you can cruise the recipe box with one simple click or browse by category if you like. If you’re looking for recipes to fit particular dietary needs, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on tags for Gluten Free, Vegetarian or Vegan under ‘Gypsy’s Most Popular Tags’.
We get requests for more recipes every week so this section will only expand. It’s our intention that the reorganized recipes menu will help make Food Gypsy a greater resource in your kitchen. On the flip side, getting organized also makes it easier for us to see what we have under each category so we can add more varied content. (Five chocolate cakes, really?) I’m particularly fond of the breakfast category, which at the moment leads with cookies and a champagne cocktail… that’s my kind of breakfast.
From “Food Stuff” to “Gastronomy”…
Gastronomy: 1. The art of food eating. 2. The study of food and culture, with a particular focus on gourmet cuisine.
As a writer and teller of tales my main focus has been food as it relates to culture and consumption. Now you’ll find those stories gathered under the heading of Gastronomy. Subheadings include: Kitchen Tales, Dining Out, Gypsy Garden, On the Street, Reads & Resources and a new category — Tips & Techniques.
This Gypsy Must Wander…
Travel stories are now cleverly housed under the Travel tab and we even have a tab for our Wine recommends and associated writings. The new Slice of Life category replaces our former Journey section. A place for a bit of storytelling, the revealing of strange truths and a touch of humor from your favorite Gypsy, as well as our Food Vibe and health related content.
Live, love, eat well!
Change… is good…
We hope you enjoy the fresh take on our little labour of love. We look forward to sharing more tales from kitchens large and small on this continuing journey of taste and travel. Take a little look around, make yourself at home and ENJOY. Feel free to share your thoughts with us on the new layout, after all, it’s all about you.
Cheers ~ Gypsy
